I recently took a distribution from an IRA. I did not set up for quarterly estimated tax payments when I filed for 2018 taxes. Two questions: Is it necessary to make an estimated tax payment (next/last one is September 15th)? Is it possible to reprint from TurboTax to generate quarterly payment form both both Federal and State?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can create 2019 estimated tax forms using the 2018 TurboTax program. The estimated tax forms, Form 1040-ES, can be printed and mailed to the IRS with your payment. Or you can use the IRS website to make 2019 estimated tax payments - https://www.irs.gov/payments
You will need to access your 2018 online tax return again.
To access your current year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and Click on Add a state
This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return. If you have filed the 2018 tax return do Not make any changes to the return that was filed. Only access the estimated tax section and then print the estimated tax forms if needed.
Or did you use the Desktop program? You can just type W4 in the search box at the top of your return , click on Find. Then Click on Jump To and it will take you to the estimated tax payments section. Say no to changing your W-4 and the next screen will start the estimated taxes section.
Or Go to….
Federal Taxes or Personal (Deskop H&B)
Other Tax Situations
Other Tax Forms
Form W-4 and Estimated Taxes - Click the Start or Update button
To just estimate the remaining quarters put in that you paid $1 for the first and second quarters so it will only calculate the 3rd and 4th quarters.
