Put the wrong banking information for my refund

The bank will reject the direct deposit of the refund if the account is incorrect.  The federal tax refund is returned to the IRS.  The IRS will mail the refund check to the address entered on your tax return.

If the bank rejects the deposit the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return.  That will take a couple weeks.
