Proving residency for a child?

I am curious if a signed school transcript will be sufficient to prove residency. It has all the years the child attended the school, along with my residence address, childs name, my name, school name and address.

Did the IRS send you a letter that says you need to prove where your child lived?   Why are you collecting proof?

Yes a previous year is being audited so the IRS asked for proof.

That sounds like a good form of proof.   Try to include records from taking the child to the doctor or dentist for check ups, medical care etc.

• School records or statement.
• Landlord or property management statement.
• Health provider statement.
• Medical records.
• Child care provided records.
• Placement agency statement.
• Social service records or statement.
• Place of worship statement.
• Indian tribal official statement.
• Employer statement.
