I have the desktop version of TurboTax. Everything that I owe TT has been paid. The program freezes when I attempt to print my return, even though I have Acrobat Reader installed. Same thing happens when I try to export a PDF. I intend to file by mail, and currently it's impossible to print. My printer is fine; the problem is in the program.

Have you tried Emailing a PDF of your return to yourself?
However, since the TurboTax PDFs are large documents, your printer's spooling capabilities may also have something to do with printing this large file, even though other printing tasks are not impacted.
Here's some details for Troubleshooting Printing Issues in TurboTax Desktop.
