Printed returns, did not mail and noticed an error. Only way to correct was to amend, but since I did not file, I can't send in an amended return. What can I do?

TurboTax told me that I could not efile for some reason, so printed out my returns. I saw an error and wanted to correct it but TurboTax assumes that I've already filed, hence I can only amend.  So I selected amend, which I now realize is not correct, as I've not filed.  I am in a pickle and don't know what to do. I've already paid for the program and have spent weeks on a very complicated return.  Do I have any options, other than starting from scratch all over again?

If you have not e-filed or mailed your forms, you can indeed to back and make changes to the original return and not have to wait to amend.

Please go back to Turbo Tax and click that you need to either amend your return or to add a state.  You do not actually need to complete either of those, but if you select one it will open your return back up for editing.  Go to the top and click on the Federal Taxes tab or State Taxes tab and this will open the federal return so you may add your information and then proceed back to the File tab.

Unfortunately, this answer did not help me or solve my problem, since I was misguided by one of your agents to amend my taxes.   As a result, I have the original and an amended returns, neither of which have been mailed. So my question is, can I now go back and change information to the original forms for editing?
