My federal and other state have been accepted but my other state taxes say pending? what does it mean? could I possibly get audited

Federal and State tax returns are processed separately. Once you transmit your tax return, it is sent to the IRS for processing. Your return will stay in a Pending status until the IRS starts processing the returns. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.
