Over 6 Weeks, Return Still Processing

Hello. My return was accepted on March 9, and the "Where's My Refund Tool" still says my return is processing. I E-filed through Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax said I am eligible for Recovery Rebate Credit for the two stimuli of 2020, so that is included in my return. Could this be why my refund is taking so long? Also, whenever I try to speak with the IRS on the phone it always says they're too busy and to call later... Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, the Federal government is validating all Recovery Rebate Claims.  In general, though, the IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:
