I got a letter from IRS to mail/fax a 1095a and a 8962 form. How will I know they have received it? How long does it generally take to get confirmation?

I am in the same boat. I faxed mine 1 week ago and I called the IRS yesterday and they said they received it but I still have to wait 6 weeks for my refund. REALLY!!! I did my taxes 2/1/17 and received my letter 2/20/17 and sent it back a few days later. I am completely stressed out about it!!!

@janeenglover This seems to be what they tell everybody but, from what I can find out, it generally only takes about 3 weeks - as long as there are no other issues...also most people said they were eventually able to track their refund again using their old refund amount (on WRM), once the IRS is done processing.

@janeenglover So IRS said they did receive your fax? I'd at least feel better if I knew they at least received mine .. But I'm hoping soon I'll know something.

@er4204 yes the lady said that they did receive it. And that was yesterday. I would try to call again today.

@bellesellsde I am hoping 3 weeks. And I keep checking "where's my refund" and I still have no bars and it says "processing"

@janeenglover What day did you fax yours? Do you think it makes a difference if it was on the weekend that I faxed mine? I thought I heard they still process on the weekend, but idk. I just get so anxious about the whole thing cause I'm up to my knees in over do bills and have a newborn,I was expecting the money like two weeks ago. It's so frustrating!!

I filed 1/24 and got approved.
Got a letter from the irs about missing 1095a & 8962 forms 2/6, sent the fax 2/17. Called monday 3/6 and still say it's processing.

@ssa101105 I was told by the IRS that however you originally filed for , whether direct deposit or by mail, etc.. is how you will still receive it.

@bellesellsde Thought id let you know and update that on day 10 after faxing I got confirmation from IRS (I called number with extension from letter) and they said they did receive my fax finally. He also gave me a date that I would receive refund of April 9th which would be "6 weeks from when I faxed" but it could be sooner. So I would definitely call on day 10 to see if they received yours.

Received letter 2/24/17 faxed papers same day.
3/6/17 fax was received.
3/8/17 WMR tax topic is back and original refund is gone. from what I can gather this means it's back in processing hope I hear something soon!

@aprilmichelle91 When you say "tax topic is back" what does that mean ? I know to go to WMR, but does it still have the same refund amount that you had originally? I'd love to know when you actually get the refund and if it really actually takes the full 6 weeks ..

@er4204 At the bottom of WMR there should be a tax topic that says Topic 52 or something of the sort. Mine disappeared the day my bars disappeared but yesterday I got the tax topic back and my amount disappeared I've read that this means they are actually processing the return just waiting to get new amount approved. I will definitely keep you updated I know how frustrating it is trying to research as much information as possible about it. But from last year I can tell a bunch of people got there's between 2-4 weeks. I'll let you know when I get a DDD.
