I sent in my taxes but forgot to submit my 1095-A ! Help!

Yep ... now you get to wait for the IRS to process the original return and you have the original refund in hand.

Then and ONLY then may you amend your return to see if you can get any more refund. This year you are lucky that you no longer have to pay back any advance of the PTC however the IRS may send a notice asking for the 1095-A and the 8962 so you MUST wait for the IRS to conclude processing the original return.

You will need to amend the 2020 tax return to add the Form 1095-A you received.

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
