No federal return

So this is my first time using turbo tax. I usually use hr block. I filed my federal and state return on Jan 26th. The both were accepted on Jan 28th. I received my state 2 days ago but still no federal. I am not getting any credits it is just 1 w2 from 1 job and that’s it. When I check where’s my refund it says that they received it and it’s being processed. That hasn’t changed in 8 days.  I know it says it could take up to 21 days but I have never had it take that long nor has the state ever come in first. Does this mean there is a mess up on the taxes?

Some returns are held out for examination randomly. Be patient.

you can't really expect your refund from IRS in one week.

If you've been getting that in the past you've been lucky.

The expectation timeframes may be changing as the IRS is improving some technologies, believe it or not.

I’m kind of new to doing taxes online so I wasn’t sure if I messed something up or what not. I used turbo tax over hr block because somehow turbo was getting me back 300 more. But thanks for the info I appreciate it.

A bit of news I found out recently, according to the IRS website/ mobile app for those that claimed the Earned Income Credit or Child Credit. We will probably be receiving our refunds around Mid-February.

Yes I saw that as well. But I don’t have either. If you click the topic 152 on where’s my refund it will explain all of that.
