Hello,
I am an MD resident, who received unemployment insurance from NY. I called the Comptroller's office of MD and they said that I have to submit an amended form.
On my TurboTax dashboard, it says that I owe NY $700, even though I did not owe them anything when I filed in Feb

I suggest you print out your updated New York return and compare it with the one that you filed to see what changed on it. If you need help understanding what happened and how to proceed, you can repost a description here and we may be able to help you.
Thanks for responding. When I went to file an amended return, the software said "Are you sure you want to file an amended return? The amended is exactly the same as the original."
I looked through both returns, and they were identical.
Your original NY non-resident return should be correct. NY did not conform to new federal tax law excluding Unemployment benefits. You should not need to file an amendment with them.
