Hello!
So I filed my taxes and have a pretty good return back. However, I never got my check as my bank account was closed via Direct Deposit and was told to just eFile it in if I never received it after the deadline mid-Jan. Anyways I filed it a couple of days ago as it is February, and just now I got it in the mail. Do I just not cash the check and see if my eFile gets accepted?
IF it does do I rip the check? Do I Amend my return completely just to take off the Economic Impact payment?
I know the IRS is no joke and just want to do what's right in the best and safest way possible in making sure I only get the amount I am supposed to get. I am just afraid of having to do this whole return over again when I need one change.

You can deposit your stimulus check and do not have to amend your tax return. Since the IRS has not opened yet, you have the opportunity to review and update the Recovery Rebate Credit portion of your 2020 tax return before they open on February 12th.
If you want to review and update your 2020 return, please enter your information here by February 6, to have your 2020 tax return sent back to you. You will then receive an email from TurboTax on February 8, letting you know that your return is available and providing you with detailed instructions on how to review, update and re-file your tax return without the Recovery Rebate Credit.

Thank you so much for that information! I just submitted that form and looking forward to Feb 8th to get this off my shoulders lol. Have a great day and stay safe! 🙂
