My state has been pending for a week can someone explain why

You can only e-file a state tax return AFTER the federal tax return has been processed by the IRS which began today.  Please revisit your state return at a later date to verify the filing status. See below for details.

My federal has already been accepted though. I have EiC so I will not be processed till mid Feb. Is that when my state will done too?

Although your federal was accepted, processing started today.  State processing varies by state.  What state do you live in?
