My son only made $400.00 last year, do I need to file taxes?

He is only required to file taxes if he made more than $6,300 or $400 self employment taxes. If he wants to get back any withholding he can file a return but it must be separate from yours. Be sure it is selected that someone can claim him as a dependent on his return if he files.
