I was just wondering why my return is pending??I'm not sure if there is anything I'm supposed to be mailing back to the irs I'm just wanting to know

Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.

Since the IRS will not be accepting any type of 2020 federal tax return until late January 2021, your tax return will remain in a Pending state until then.

Note that once a tax return has been filed it cannot be retrieved or changed.
