My brother in St. Louis, MO passed away on Jan 19,2016. Do I need to file a tax return for him for 2016? Thanks

Brother was widowed in 2014. As far as I know, he had no income for 2016.

If he had no income for 2016 his estate is not required to file a final income tax return for that year.

(You might want to file a no-income return just to avoid any eventual correspondence from the IRS as to why no return was filed, but it's not required.)
