If he filed his return and you are shown on his tax return form 1040 as a dependent, then he in fact claimed you. If his return was accepted, he will have to prepare, print and mail an amended return form 1040X to delete you from his return. He should not delete you before he starts the amended return. Amended returns must be printed and mailed. They can't be efiled. He must print, sign and mail it himself. In normal times it takes the IRS about 16 weeks to process an amended return.
He should never have been able to claim you if you had more than $4200 of income. Have you filed your own return and did you check the box that you could be claimed as a dependent by someone else? If you did, you will not be eligible for the stimulus payment unless you also file an amended return to uncheck the box.
you state it didn't affect his tax return, but I suspect he did get the $500 credit for an 'other dependent". How do you know it didn't affect his return?
Since amendments won't be processed for at least 4 months, here is the worst case scenario on the stimulus payment as there is no guidance from the IRS whether they are going to adjust the stimulus after processing the amendment:

I didn’t make that much and I didn’t file @Texas Roger
I’m just going off what he said. I’m not too good with all this tax stuff it’s all so confusing. $500 credit? Does everyone that claims a dependent get that ? $500 on there refund?? @NCperson
Your original statement is unclear. If your boyfriend did not pay more than half of the household expenses, how were you able to pay them with very little income? The requirement in addition to the $4200 income limit for you is that he paid more than half of the expenses to maintain the household you both live in. Did he not do that?
Other dependents claimed on a tax return qualify the filer to get a $500 credit.
@shannonevans88 - if your boyfriend claimed you as a dependent, he probably received $500 as a tax credit. ask him to look at his tax return, line 13, if he amends, he will owe that $500 back.
if you made more than $4200, he COULD NOT claim you.
but if you didn't make much money, how is it that you paid more than 50% of your support?
There is no household. I’m homeless tbh @Texas Roger
I’ll ask him. Im homeless so there is not tons of expenses @NCperson
@shannonevans88 - did you live with your boyfriend in 2019 and for how long? that is the only way he could have claimed you as a dependent.... where do you sleep at night? if at your boyfriends, the IRS wouldn't consider you homeless necessarily and since he is paying the rent, he'd be supporting you with more than 50% of your support and you would be a dependent of his..... it's not clear cut here what is occurring.
we sleep in the car I guess I should have said we not I. We (my boyfriend, my cat and myself ) are homeless. We sleep in our van he works 3rd shift most of the time @NCperson
