My 2020 amended Fed Return still in review

So, some of you like me got an email from Turbotax to amend our 2020 return, did it, and submitted it. Mine is still in review. How would this affect my 2021 tax filing? Should I still file 2021 taxes? Would this year's one also go to review mode? This is very frustrating. What is the timeline for the review to finish? Does anyone know? Thank you for your help.

Every tax return stands alone except for items that are carried forward from one year to the next.  Having your 2020 return still in process should not affect your 2021 tax filing.  You can go ahead with filing your 2021 return. 

There is no way to predict whether your 2021 return would also be reviewed in detail.  Also, there is no set timeline for how long a review may take.  Only the IRS may be able to give you that information since they are the ones doing the review.
