Must I file an amended NY state return when my amended federal return showed no additional tax or refund?

I inadvertently left off a 1099-SA for HSA distributions so filed a 1040X, but owed no additional taxes since the distribution was used for medical expenses. No other numbers changed. Do I need to file an amended NY state return even though no changes were made to the NY return and no additional taxes or refunds were due?
