mistake on 1040

THE IRS WANTS TO KNOW WHERE THE  LINE SIX  $75,375 CAME FROM.

IT SHOULD BE $82,250 1-5.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO SAY TO THEM.

What tax year are you referring to in your question?  2018 or some earlier year?  And line 6 of what form or schedule?

Line 6 of the 2018 form 1040 is lines 1-5 plus line 22 of the new Sch 1 ... did you look at that form for an adjustment ?

Total income. Add lines 1 through 5. Add any amount from Schedule 1, line 22    https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2018.pdf
