mailed in 1040 but did not include w2 and 1099r. how do i correct?

You will have to amend the 2021 tax return that was filed to add the W-2 and Form 1099-R.

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Do you mean that you forgot to include the income reported on your W-2 and 1099R when you prepared your tax return, or do you mean you forgot to attach the paper copies of those forms to the mailed return?   Please clarify.
