I received a LTR 4883C letter from the IRS, and now after proving my identity, my refund according to the IRS, is going to be delayed by 9 weeks. What the heck?

I got this today too. I think ut may be because I claimed our Baby that was born in December. It might also be due to some moving expenses I claimed? Im not sure. But I was really counting on getting that Money New Borns are expensive!

They asked last year's employers and income and all my kids names,  dates of birth,  and ss#'s and for my bank info and how much my refund is.

My rep told me it doesn't take that long but it can take UP to 9weeks my boyfriend said it happened to him before an after verifying he got his refund shortly after. Like 14days later

That is great news! The rep told me I should be able to check status in 6 weeks.  Only time will tell.  Thanks for the info!

I received my letter 2/16 called 2/17 5 min phone call the hold, was told everything was verified and would take 9 weeks, wife has checked everyday since no bars still says processing. This is a bunch of crap, called turbo tax asked for refund since we paid extra and answered all the security questions they asked when filling, they said sorry it has nothing to do with what you paid for and the lady proceeded to tell me her other job was a cpa like I care lady, wife is going to call back in everyone else I know has gotten their return and they filed with H&R Block or else where, way to go turbo tax !

I got the same letter but I did not go threw turbo tax this year it may come sooner then that I think they gotta tell everyone that just pray about it I know I can use the money now
