Issues with Amended return efile

Trying to e-file an amended return BUT Turbotax is not recognizing the original efiled return!  Even though the original return shows "accepted" in Turbotax.  Why - I really don't want to have to mail and wait even longer!

I don't know why you are not able to e-file, but don't spend a lot of time and effort on it. The IRS takes 4 months or more to process any amended return, whether it's e-filed or filed by mail. The difference between e-filing and filing by mail is only a few days.

Are you amending a 2025 tax return or an earlier year? You cannot e-file an amended return for a past year with TurboTax.

What exactly does "not recognizing" mean? What is the exact message you get when you try to e-file?

Are you using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop?
