Is there some way to get out of the wizard view?

It is too slow and painful to click through 100s of screens of questions. I want to see all the info that I've entered in a simple view.

The online version does not have Forms Mode for direct viewing/editing of forms during preparation.  That feature is only in the desktop editions (CD/download).

In the Online version you can review the Form 1040 at any time for free (but not other forms), or you can pay in advance and then can view/print all the forms at any time, but you can't directly edit on them.    Only the desktop version has Forms Mode, where one can actually view and edit on the forms.

You can preview the Form 1040 at any time for free.  Here's how:

  • With the return open, click on MY ACCOUNT at the top, then TOOLS.
  • Then choose "View Tax Summary".
  • At the top of the Tax Summary screen there is a tab-link to "Preview Form 1040."

To pay in advance to view/print your Form 1040 and other forms at any time:

  • With the return open, click on MY ACCOUNT at the top, then PRINT CENTER.
  • Choose "Print/save/preview this year's return."
  • It will then prompt you to pay by credit/debit card.  Once paid, you can view the forms at will.
NOTE:  Be aware that a paid-for online return can no longer be cleared if you later want to start over.  You can still edit to make changes, but can't start from scratch.
