Is my 2020 Massachusetts State return late if my efile isn't accepted by May 17th 2020?

As long as you submit your e-filed return by midnight tonight it is considered on time.  If there is a reject there is a grace period to work out the reject.  You would need to look up what that would be for Massachusetts.  But it is on time.
