Found out that I had to amend my 2022 return due to under posting on a 1099-R, the gross income from the 2020 Qualified Disaster Program by $600. So, I amended the 2022 return by correcting the 1099-R and found out when it was ready to be looked at in the 1040-X format that the original gross income was higher than what was reported on the original 2022 return, also the federal tax withholding was also higher than what was reported on the original 2022 return (I never adjusted the federal withholding of the 1099-R in the amended return), but this gives me an erroneous extra refund which should have ended up with owing a small amount back to the IRS. On the 1040-X format page, my corrections were all correct in the corrected column of the 1040-X, but when looked at my original 2022 return e-filed by turbo tax and what is shown on the original column of the 1040-X they were incorrect. Sure, I would have loved to e-filed that amended return but would get in trouble with the IRS if they audit it.
