IRS Notice CP27
I got a notice saying that I missed out on some EITC credit and to fill out a attached form from the IRS. So I filled it out and sent it back. It’s been 8 weeks no check and I can’t track it. If I call the IRS they won’t pick up

IRS Notice CP27
it could take the IRS months to process the form you sent back. hopefully, you sent it using a method where you could track its delivery. if not. then just be patient because it will likely be months before the iRS gets to it.

IRS Notice CP27
@Yadhuna - I've seen a number of posts similar to yours. No one has posted that they actually heard back from the IRS.... doesn't the notice state you MAY be eligible for EITC? This is something Turbo Tax would have calcuated automatically when you filed your 2021 tax return.
There is a twist this year that you MAY be eligible for higher ETIC, depending on whether your 2019 income is higher than 2021 income. Did they ask you for the 2019 income?
if your 2021 income exceeds the number is this table, then using the 2019 income in place of 2021 income to determine EITC is NOT going to change what you already received:
Single / HOH/ MFS / Qual Widow | Married – Joint | |
0 Children | $9,800 | $9,800 |
1 Child | $10,600 | $10,600 |
2 Children | $14,950 | $14,950 |
3 Children | $14,950 | $14,950 |
