I have a matter that I needed to discuss with one of your Tax Specialists. I have now wasted 60 minutes trying to get through to ask my questions. I paid extra for this privilege (MAX) and I need help (Scroll Down) with the 2019 and 2020 Amended Returns. Why don't you have an easy way to actually speak to someone who can help?
I've not received the $98.00 for my 2019 Amended Return, which I filed through Turbo Tax in February 2020 using a Digital Signature provided by your site. Later in the year, my Amended Return was mailed back to me via USPS to be Physically Signed as the IRS stated they did NOT accept my Digitally Signed 2019 Amended Return. As you can see they're now claiming they didn't receive it until September 2020 - but your records will show I originally filed it in February 2020 - and that I must contact them to clear it up.
On top of that, I just found out that the State of Iowa sent out incorrect 1099-G's for 2020. I'm attending re-training under a federal petition from the U.S. Dept. of Labor through the Iowa Workforce Development and therefore receive my funding via their unemployment services, but it's not unemployment per se, because it's funded through the petition re-training program. Anyway, the State of Iowa inadvertently added income that was NOT received and is in the process of correcting this via amended 1099-G's, which in turn, means I'll have to file an 2020 Amended Return.
My questions are:
- Should I wait until I get the 2019 Amended Return squared away or should I file the 2020 Amended Return as soon as I receive the amended 1099-G?
- Will the IRS / State of Iowa be accepting Digital Signatures or do I need to print the 2020 Amended Return and mail it in so I don't have to wait ONE YEAR or MORE to receive my refund?

Your Tax Specialist wasn't able to connect or else they're not very nice? I tried to paste here but of course your system wouldn't allow that - needless to say, he/she kept on hanging up ONE SECOND after they got onto the Live Chat, then I tried email, that came back as Invalid and now I'm trying this forum, which will probably be ignored. Honestly what did I pay extra for? :(
