IP PIN Turbo Tax automatically entered was not accepted by IRS. Error when sending ammended return states original return not submitted. what now?

Can I change the  IP PIN on my return?

TurboTax cannot enter a 6 digit IP PIN.  You are referring to the 5 digit self-selected PIN for e-filing the tax return that is entered in the File section of the program.  TurboTax will use the 5 digit PIN you selected on the 2022 tax return if you transferred the 2022 tax return to the 2023 tax return when you started the entry of the 2023 return using the online editions.

The six digit IP PIN that you would have received from the IRS is entered by the user in a separate section of the TurboTax program.

To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
