If I qualified for a PHEV tax credit in Deductions and Credits, what paperwork/documentation is required and how how do I attach it to my electronic income tax filing?

You simply need to file Form 8936 with your return, either on paper or electronically.  No additional documentation is required for your federal return.

OK. Filled out 8936. It says to attach to tax return. How do I attach for electronic filing in Turbotax?

It should be attached automatically when you file.

Thank you, but how is this possible? My filled out 8936 is a .pdf document in a separate folder.

If you completed the 8936 in your TurboTax program, it should've been electronically transmitted with your return.  If you go to "Forms" mode in TT, can you not see Form 8936?
