If IRS filed my 2013 tax return without deductions, can I still file an amendment?

I completed it through TurboTax, but never filed.  I understand I need to do a hard copy, but as an amendment, right?

Sorry but it is too late to amend a 2013 return for a refund even if the IRS computed it for you ... this is the reason you file a return so you get a better bottom line.

You do not amend a tax return that was never sent to the IRS. You mail the original return that was prepared and never filed. If you have a copy of it, just mail it to the IRS with copies of all W-2s and any other form that had federal withholding. Make sure you sign and date the return.

You can no longer prepare a 2013 tax return using TurboTax since TurboTax only supports preparation software for 3 prior years. You can no longer get a refund from a return that is for a tax year prior to 3 tax years ago.

Perhaps I misunderstood your question. Are you saying the IRS completed a tax return for you since you did not file it yourself. Since more than 3 years have passed since the original filing deadline, it is unlikely the IRS would give you any refund from a return that you now file as of this date. You would have to contact them to find out what they might do.
