What money are you referring to? You do not enter anything about stimulus checks on a 2022 tax return. The 8862 is for Earned Income Credit--which has nothing to do with stimulus money or the recovery rebate credit. Did you receive the Earned Income Credit? Look on line 27 of your 2021 Form 1040 to see if you received EIC last year.
No, the 8862 only applies to earned income credit (EIC), child tax credit (CTC)/additional child tax credit (ACTC), credit for other dependents (ODC) or American opportunity credit (AOTC).
Taxpayers complete Form 8862 and attach it to their tax return if their credit was reduced or disallowed for any reason other than a math or clerical error and they want to take the credit(s) and meet all the requirements.
