If I pay union dues in New York, how do I get the form IT-196, Line 44, Addition Adjustment K to show it? I entered all my Misc job and investment expenses in Federal.

For some reason the program is not carrying over the union dues to the New York return.

Your union dues would be on Line 21 of your IT-196Line 44 is the amount of your union dues disallowed due to the 2% floor.

Per the instructions for IT-196, Line 44, Section K, this entry equals the amount of disallowed union dues included on the Unreimbursed employee business expenses that were subject to the 2% miscellaneous itemized deduction floor.

Per NYS instructions for Form IT-196 (page 19),

You can get to it directly from the forms view.  It does not appear to show up in the step-by-step (at least for me).

From the menu bar, choose View -> Forms, then go to the IT-196.  If you click on Line 44, then on the magnifying glass icon that appears just to the left, the Addition Adjustments worksheet opens.

I also found that TurboTax transfers the amount from federal over to line 21, but not line 44.
