If I haven't filed taxes independently before, should I be getting underpayment penalties? I missed 2023 taxes so is that the cause? I am also listed as a dependent.

It says I have a penalty for underpayment of my estimated taxes as I'm filling out my 2024 taxes. I haven't submitted anything yet. It also shows I have to make an amendment even though I've never submitted for 2024. What's the reason?

Did you get a reason for needing an amendment?
- If you haven't filed, you should not need to.
Did you enter W-2's on your return?
Did they show withholdings on the form in box 2?
Did you file the return by mistake?
