No - A prepaid debit card is different than a normal checking account. That is why they specified if you had the card issued by your tax prepairer (which is the Turbo Prepaid Visa). So you should be on the lookout for the IRS portal to open up so you can provide your deposit information if you wish to receive your refund through direct deposit, otherwise you will receive a check.
In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
No. The IRS will mail checks or direct deposit. The Turbo Tax card is not part of the IRS system.

This card has been nothing but a sham. Iwill not use turbo tax again next year. And direct others to do the same.
Yes. The turbo tax card has it's own account and routing number so it should be no problem.
We are still waiting for IRS guidance regarding updating or providing direct deposit information for the stimulus payments and how they will be distributed to these types of accounts. We will have more information once the government finalizes the details.
