I used turbotax to file my 2020 Form 1040, and need to amend it. I haven't used turbotax since. Does Turbotax keep copies of filed returns?

TurboTax retains online tax returns for the past seven years.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year 2020 and Click on Amend (change) 2020 return

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Yes, but you will have to use your original ID and Password.

You can get the TurboTax software at TurboTax Online.

Sign in to TurboTax. 

1. On the Tax Home screen,
2. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents 
3. Choose the year you want to amend. 
4. Click  Amend (change) return, 
5. Select Amend using TurboTax Online. 
6. If you're told to amend your return via TurboTax Desktop, follow the steps for TurboTax Desktop below instead.
