I used Turbo Tax to e-file my federal taxeson 4/27/20. I elected to pay the taxes owed on a later date. I attempted to do so on 7/11/20 using the screens for e-submission. I was advised that the returns were previously accepted by IRS, but I am concerned

I used Turbo Tax to e-file my federal taxes on 4/27/20. I tried to pay the taxes owed on 7/11/20, but I am not sure that the bank account information that I provided on 7/11was provided to IRS, as the only information that I received on 7/11 was that the IRS had already received my return. How can I check if this has occurred?

If you entered data into TurboTax regarding your payment after the return was accepted, it will NOT be transmitted to the IRS.  TurboTax cannot transmit any additional information electronically once the tax return is filed.

To pay taxes owed electronically, you will need to use an IRS service outside of the TurboTax program.  You can pay directly here: IRS Tax Payments.

If you are not sure about data entered into TurboTax prior to filing the return (such as a payment scheduled for a later date), call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment.
