I thought i amended my return but are you supposed to mail something in?

i received another w-2 after i already filed so i amended it online. i received my first tax return already but i have no clue where or how to find out when i should be getting my amended tax return. was i supposed to ship something? please help! thank you

The amended return is a form 1040X. It must be printed, signed, and mailed to the IRS. It cannot be efiled. If you have not mailed a 1040X to the IRS, you have not completed the amended return process.

on the 1040x form im just putting in the information for the w-2 thats not on my already filed tax return right? this stuff is kind of confusing. and i don't want to fill it in wrong!
