I submitted my state and federal tax return on Feb 28, but neither has been accepted. It is now March 5. What should I do?

The IRS may be going through a backlog of returns.

In  the meantime, check your e-file status using the FAQ below. There is more information in the Related Information links at the bottom including what pending means and how to track your refund if you're expecting one.

We'll send you an email when your return goes from pending status to Accepted or Rejected.
