I owed taxes

I owe taxes from the previous year,i was making payments and still received a refund,but im still getting letters saying i still owe and the penalties are increasing,whats happening?

surprised you got a refund. but you can cash it and then use the funds to make a payment. penalties and interest will continue to accrue until the back taxes are paid in full

• I owed both,i paid the state one lump some and my payment plan was made with the federal,i owed about $3000,i been making monthly payments and filed my taxes in January,however i received a refund from federal and state toataling about $110
