as the subject says
after filing with this service I just received some bull**bleep** letter from the IRS and wasnt able to follow up in any way.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Unless we know what the letter reads we can’t help you.
Are you sure your e-files were accepted? What does it say in your account? Does it show that the returns were accepted? Or does your account say something else--like "rejected,", "printed," or "ready to mail?" If it does not say accepted, the returns were not filed. And....for each of those years, did you track your refunds on the IRS refund site----why are you just now asking about 2020, 2021 and 2022? Did you follow up after filing to see what happened?
You say you received a letter from the IRS? TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS after you file your tax return, so no one at TurboTax knows what happened to your refunds, or what the letter(s) from the IRS said. Do you still have those letters? What do the letters say? Did you owe back taxes or child support that caused the IRS to seize your refunds?
As for not being able to follow up-----it is your responsibility to follow up. TurboTax cannot intercede with the IRS on your behalf. You can call the IRS yourself:
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
