"last year?"---meaning 2022 or 2023?    What does it say in your online account?  Does your account show that your e-file was accepted--or does it say something else---like "printed," ready to mail," or "rejected?"   If it says anything other than accepted, the return was not filed and you will need to file it by mail now by printing, signing and dating it in ink, and mailing it in.

If it shows that the return was accepted, what does it say on the IRS refund site?

The IRS refund site recently changed and is now showing information for 2021 returns as well as information for 2022 and 2023 returns so you can check the IRS site.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 or 2022 or 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If you chose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund:

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
