How do I find last year’s AGI?
The IRS requires your 2019 AGI to verify your identity for e-filing. If you're paper-filing your return, you won't need your AGI because those are manually processed.
There are a few places you can get your 2019 AGI:
If you didn't file a 2019 federal tax return (or you haven't filed one yet), enter 0 as your AGI.
Married Filing Separately in 2019 but filing jointly in 2020?
Filed jointly in 2019 but are Married Filing Separately in 2020?
You won't find your AGI on your W-2 or 1099 form because those forms don't take into account over a dozen above-the-line deductions that go into calculating your AGI.

If you didn't file 2019 or filed it later in the year then try entering 0 for the AGI. If that doesn't work you will have to print and mail your return.
I filled a 1040, but the AGI is not located there. IRS rejected the AGI number I previously gave them today.

The 2019 AGI is on the Form 1040 Line 8b.
If the IRS rejects the 2019 AGI then enter a 0 (zer0) for the 2019 AGI and e-file the tax return again.
If your 2019 AGI is causing your tax return to be rejected, you can try entering "0" instead. The IRS requires your 2019 AGI to verify your identity for e-filing. If you're paper-filing your return, you won't need your AGI because those are manually processed.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on View adjusted gross income (AGI)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

I tried to Electronically send a tax return and it keeps getting rejected? The reasons given being the AGI from last year is wrong or the pin from last year is not recognized First, this particular tax was not filed Electronically last year so there was no pin used. Secondly, the AGI I used is the correct AGI from last year. What can I do to correct this?
Was your tax return mailed in or electronically filed for 2019?
If it was mailed in and has since been processed, you still may need to use $0 for your Adjusted Gross Income as the IRS may have not updated their system before the new electronic filing verification was established for 2020 income tax returns.
Please see the link below for additional steps to help you file.
