If you have both Federal and state returns, be sure you mail them in separate envelopes to each one's respective tax agency.

And here are a couple of tips for when you prepare your 2018 return:

When you are ready to prepare the 2018 return, you can transfer the *.tax2017 data file from your finished 2017 return into your new 2018 return.  If you use Online TurboTax, the 2017 data file can be uploaded into your 2018 return, or if you use 2018 desktop product, it can be transferred in when you start the new 2018 return.   We can tell you how to do either of those.

And when efiling the 2018 return, it will ask you for your 2017 AGI for verification.    Since you did not file the 2017 return last year, your 2017 AGI will not be in the IRS database.
So when asked during efiling, you would enter a 2017 AGI of 0 (zero).

Hi There! I just mailed my 2017 amended return as the previous user mentioned, download the 2017 TT and triple and quadruple check it. Add your DD info and make sure you sign everything.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you mail both your federal and state return via certified mail keep receipts of everything. USPS is letting returns "slip thru the cracks bc of high volume". I would've been screwed had I not been proactive. I watched this video and it helped me a lot.

Good luck!!!
