I missed the file date, but i am supposed to get a refund. So I need to take other steps other than just filing?

No there are no special steps to take. There is no penalty for filing late if you are getting a refund. File normally. You can e-file a 2018 return up to October 15, 2019. After that, e-filing will close and returns will have to be printed, signed and mailed.
