I made a mistake on my return and my federal withholding should have been 0 but I imputed an amount from fica. I amended return and now they want me to pay the difference

I never received my return, it’s been on hold. I don’t have 2200$ to pay for them to give me my return anyone have any advice, or know who to contact

You should not amend until the IRS finishes processing your return and you get the first refund or pay the first tax due.    They are probably fixing it for you and will send you a bill.  Did you have a refund on the original return?
