I have filed my amended return once but now it seems like I need to refile the amended.

If you electronically filed your amended return, you should have received an email letting you know whether it was accepted or rejected.  If it was accepted, you do not need to refile the amended return.  If it was rejected, then your amended return was never filed and you can proceed through the file screens again.
