What does the IRS tell you to do?

I only know cause my irs.gov refund status online says I haven't received anything in the mail yet and it's been 5 weeks

So, you don't know for certain there is an audit?  Are you expecting a refund?

If expecting a refund, did you provide direct deposit information?   If not, paper checks and paper returns take awhile to process and 5 weeks would not be unexpected.

Also, depending on what credits, etc., are claimed on the return, it could be under review, but not necessarily an "audit" per se.

However, did you get audited? An audit involves a letter in the mail from the IRS saying you are audited. Did you get anything in the mail from the IRS?
