I filed my return, and owed this year. Then I got a corrected 1098, and just completed the steps to amend my return. Now it says I owe $0. Is that right?

What you are seeing is that the corrected 1098 is not changing your amount due. When you hit the amend button everything goes to $0 and then any changes in that number are based on the return you already submitted. If the 1098 would have made any changes you would see a different number there that would have been a refund of the amount you paid in.
