I receieved letter from irs letter 4883c . verify identity. i called and all went good. now they say up to 9 weeks before i get return ?

I filed 01/30. WMR bar disappeared 02/02. Received letter 02/23, letter 4882C. Just called. Call was 10 minutes, dialing to hang up. The lady asked a few questions. I was verified and given the 9 week wait time story. It sucks so much...but it's hopeful to know I may get it sooner after reading some comments. I tell you what...when I owed them money....I never seen the IRS act so fast! Lol! Good luck all!

My status never had bars and I never had the path act oath. My status has always said , still processing

Mine started off with bars stating accepted then bars disappeared and screen changed to processing.

This year i had a different address then last year, I'm assuming that's why i had to verify identity... I just tried to order transcripts for my new address in which i filed this years return... NO LUCK!!!!!!

@cfelzke1 I also moved since last year and it's still not recognizing my new address when I tried to order a transcript. I hope this isn't a bad sign

@totallymarie I doubt... the rep i verified with stated the adress change could have triggered verify.. So much ID theft they are protecting our ID....lol hopefully

Hi I really need help! I've just gotten off the phone with a real rude impatient person and of course I was not verified! This is my second time filing,,first time was 2013 and I've moved maybe twice so I didn't give exact address first time and she directed me to set appointment in office,,, but then I sat and thought how she didn't even ask me to spell out anything or tell me she was asking specific questions from when I first filed, so I decided I'd call back and the lady this time actually tried helping and told me what was needed but said it was too late I had already set appointment but these answers were right this time but I would need to go IN OFFICE. I am very frustrated I do have work and am kinda nervous to what they will need from me now! Could someone help if been to OFFICE TO VERIFY? what will they ask for?

@totallymarie .... Just wanted to let you know ..... 17ers with address changes..... I was able to order transcripts by mail for 2016 return.... I would say this is a good sign meaning tax return is complete ""no bars on WMR website"" It only says "we have received your return..processing" I will update when DDR is available..

verified on the 17th.?? Is it possible I have no update because Monday was a Holiday? OMG This is making my skin crawl.. Has anybody who verified been waiting longer than 14 days..??\

No of us have got an update ,,,, those of us who called in on the 17th to verify Identity.... Try to order your transcripts...

is that a good sign when you can order them...?? i just order my 2016 and 2015 online it takes 5-10 days
